Tom Petit
Tom is the founder of Petit Auto Wash Equipment and has been the driving force behind its innovation and growth. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors—whether it's hiking, biking, or swimming. Tom’s favorite part about working at Petit is bringing ideas to life.
Project Manager
Scott Roberson
Scott Roberson has been working at Petit Auto Wash for five years as a Project Manager. Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors, boating, and spending time with his son. Scott’s favorite part about working at Petit is helping car wash owners improve business
and efficiency.
Office Manager
Matt Hurst
Matt Hurst has been working at Petit Auto Wash for 20 years as an Office Manager. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his two kids. Matt’s favorite part about his job is working with Petit’s distributors.

About Petit Auto Wash Equipment
Family Owned – Built in the USA!
In 1968, Tom Petit, Sr. and his wife Rita opened their first car wash in Norton, Ohio—marking the beginning of what would become known as Petit’s Auto Wash.
From the start, car washing was a family affair. Tom Petit Jr. was just eight years old when he began helping at the family business. As the Petits expanded their operations and opened more locations, their sons became increasingly involved, and the family’s dedication to the car wash industry continued to grow.
Tom Jr. went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in aerospace technology, obtain his Airline Transport Pilot rating, and work as a corporate pilot. During downtime between flights, he visited car washes across the country, studying their equipment and looking for ways to improve it. This curiosity—combined with his engineering background—sparked a wave of innovation. What began as ideas soon became prototypes, and eventually, patents. In 1989, Tom Jr. received the first of eight U.S. patents. That same year, he incorporated Petit Auto Wash Equipment and began manufacturing cutting-edge car wash systems.
Over 50 years later, the Petit name is known for quality, durability, and forward-thinking technology. Petit Auto Wash Equipment has earned a reputation for engineering excellence and superior customer support—something their loyal operators and partners proudly attest to.
In addition to serving as President of Petit Auto Wash, Inc., Tom Jr. has also held leadership roles in the industry, including President of the Ohio Car Wash Association and member of the International Car Wash Association’s Market Research Committee. Today, Tom and his brother Dennis continue to operate over a dozen car washes throughout Northeast Ohio while actively leading the company.
Though the company has grown significantly over the decades, Petit remains a proud, family-owned business—committed to innovation, integrity, and helping operators succeed.
